Teachers & Makerspaces: Educator Pricing, Class Packs and Workshops

I taught computer science and interaction design for over 20 years, at art schools and universities in the UK and Canada, so I know how classes buy: the same parts for every student, a budget to stick to, and everything needed before term starts. This page is for teachers, school and university technicians, librarians and makerspace leads.

What I offer

Offer What you get
Educator pricing 10% off everything in the shop. Email me from your school, library or makerspace address and I'll send you the code.
Class packs (10 students) Tell me the project and I'll put together a pack for ten: fabric strips, conductive thread, sewable LEDs, coin cells and holders, boards or sensors, whatever the lesson needs.
Custom kits for a course The same parts every term, packed one bag per student and ready for the first week of class.
Free swatch card for staff A card with conductive fabric I sell, labelled, so you can feel the difference before you order. One per department in Canada.
Workshops and school visits Hands-on e-textiles and ESP32 sessions for students or staff, in person in Nova Scotia or online anywhere.

Questions teachers ask

Is there a minimum order for the educator discount?

No. The 10% code works on any order, as often as you need it.

Can you match a parts list from another supplier?

Send me the list and I'll tell you what I can supply and suggest swaps for anything I don't stock.

What age groups is this for?

Sewn circuits with coin cells and LEDs work well from middle school up. ESP32 and sensor projects suit high school, college and university classes, and adult makerspaces.

Do you run workshops outside Nova Scotia?

Online, yes, anywhere. For in-person sessions further away, get in touch and we can talk about it.
