Custom Electronics Commissions
Your build is already great. Let's make it glow.
I design and build custom electronics for costumes, cosplay, wearables and fashion pieces: LED armour that pulses, props that light up when you raise them, sound-reactive details, motion-triggered effects. Everything is built around ESP32 boards, wired cleanly, battery-powered and tough enough for a long day on the con floor.
I'm Christine, the maker behind Tinker Tailor and the CMozMaker YouTube channel. I've spent over 15 years soldering, sewing and teaching people to put electronics into things they can wear, and I use the same conductive fabrics, boards and LEDs I sell in the shop.
How it works
- Message me first. Tell me about your costume or piece, send reference images, and describe what you want it to do. (No, I can't build a working lightsaber. Yes, I can make it look like one.)
- We agree the plan. Effects, timeline and a final quote, all in writing before any money changes hands.
- You pay a $150 deposit. I'll send you a private payment link once we've agreed. It locks in your build slot and comes off your final total.
- I build and test it. You'll get progress updates along the way.
- Final payment and shipping. I invoice the balance, then send it ready to wear.
What it costs
- Simple LED builds: about $200 to $350 CAD
- Sensor and interactive builds: about $400 to $1,000+ CAD
Your quote depends on the number of effects, how much needs to be sewn or hidden into the costume, and which parts I need to source. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus applicable tax and shipping.
Timing
Most builds take 3 to 6 weeks. If you have a convention or event deadline, tell me up front. Rush builds may be possible for an extra fee, depending on my schedule.
Good to know
- Deposit: $150 CAD, deducted from your final total. It is non-refundable once work begins.
- Batteries: lithium batteries have strict shipping rules. Where the carrier doesn't allow a battery to travel with your build, I'll ship it without one and tell you exactly what to buy, or send the battery separately where that's permitted. We'll sort this out when we agree the plan, especially for orders outside Canada.
- Your costume stays yours: I can build the electronics into your piece if you post it to me, or build a module you add yourself.

How Conductive Fabric Can Electrify Your Style!
Imagine a fabric that can conduct electricity. Yes, you heard that right! Conductive fabric is a special type of textile woven with metallic components that allow it to conduct electricity. It's like your regular fabric, but with a superpower!
