Give your project the ability to see colour. The TCS34725 RGB color sensor reads red, green, blue, and clear light with impressive accuracy, thanks to an on-chip IR-blocking filter that removes infrared interference — the same IR your eyes naturally filter out. The result is true-to-life colour readings, even through darker fabric or tinted glass.
With a 3,800,000:1 dynamic range and adjustable integration time and gain, this little board handles everything from bright sunlight to dim ambient light. It communicates over I2C and runs at 3.3V or 5V, making it easy to drop into almost any project.
This is the purple PCB version — compact, wearable-friendly, and ready to solder.

Pair It With
Also available as the TCS34725 Black PCB version if you prefer a different board style. For a multi-function alternative, the Adafruit APDS9960 adds proximity and gesture detection alongside colour sensing.
To drive this sensor, pair it with a compact I2C-capable board like the Adafruit ESP32-C3 QT Py, the Adafruit ESP32-S2 QT Py, or the sewable Beetle ESP32 [Sewable]. For a fun all-in-one learning board, the Adafruit Circuit Playground Classic is a great starting point.
