The MAX30102 is an integrated pulse oximeter and heart rate monitor biosensor. It uses red and infrared LEDs with a photodetector to measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) via light reflection (PPG). Wear it on a finger, earlobe, or wrist. Communicates over I2C — easy to connect to Arduino, ESP32, or any microcontroller.
Used in Samsung Galaxy S series phones for its excellent performance and reliable glass-covered sensor that suppresses ambient light interference. Ultra-low standby power — can be shut down via software with near-zero current draw.
