Add 16 extra GPIO pins to your ESP32 or any microcontroller using just two I2C wires. The MCP23017 converts 16-bit parallel I/O to I2C serial, with two programmable interrupt outputs and a polarity inversion register, which makes it ideal for button matrices, touch inputs, LED control and other pin-hungry wearable builds.
