One addressable pixel, exactly where you want it. Each tiny purple board carries a single WS2812B 5050 RGB LED with its own built-in controller, so every pixel can show a different colour. Use one as a status light, or chain as many as you need — OUT of one goes to IN of the next — and control them all from a single pin.
Because they're separate boards, you can place pixels freely across a garment instead of being locked into strip spacing. Think stars scattered over a cape, eyes on a mask, or one glowing bead on a cuff. The large pads can be soldered or sewn with conductive thread.
Specifications
- LED: WS2812B 5050 RGB with built-in driver IC
- Colours: 24-bit (256 levels per channel)
- Supply voltage: 5V nominal (usually works from 3.7V LiPo)
- Current: up to about 60 mA at full white
- Data: single-wire, chainable (IN → OUT)
- Libraries: CMozGlow, FastLED, Adafruit NeoPixel (NEO_GRB)
Pin Definitions
- VCC — Power in, 5V
- GND — Ground
- IN — Data in, from your microcontroller or the previous pixel
- OUT — Data out, to the next pixel
Project Ideas
Constellations on a jacket, glowing eyes on a mask or costume head, a status light on a wearable, jewellery that changes colour, or sparkles scattered across a skirt hem.
Good to know
Most WS2812B pixels run happily from a 3.7V LiPo, just slightly less bright than at 5V. Use conductive thread only for short runs: its resistance adds up quickly as you chain more pixels.
Pair It With
Get started fast with our free CMozGlow library. Sew them in with stainless steel conductive thread, or connect with Electro Loops (ring terminals). Want more pixels on one board? Try the NIBBLES 4-LED module, the 16-LED RGB ring, or WS2812D through-hole LEDs for a classic LED shape.
